It's one of the larger planned communities in the area, with several distinct sections built out over a number of years. Homes range from smaller attached townhomes to larger single-family houses on generous lots, so there's a decent spread of price points within the same neighborhood.
The community is built around Avery Ranch Golf Club, and the course runs through much of the development, giving a lot of homes fairway or green-space views. Beyond golf, the neighborhood connects to the Brushy Creek Regional Trail, which gives residents direct access to miles of hike-and-bike paths. There are also several community pools and parks spread across the different sections.
For day-to-day errands, the area along Parmer Lane and 183A has grocery stores, restaurants, and retail within a short drive. The 183A toll road makes getting downtown or to the Domain area noticeably faster than surface streets alone. The Metro Rail's Lakeline Station is also nearby, which adds a transit option into central Austin.

Avery Ranch is in far northwest Austin, near the Williamson County line. It sits close to the intersection of Parmer Lane and 183A, roughly 20 to 25 miles from downtown Austin depending on your route.
The neighborhood has a wide mix, from attached townhomes to larger single-family houses. Many homes were built in the 2000s and 2010s, and some back up to the golf course or community green spaces.
Avery Ranch Golf Club is the centerpiece of the community. Residents also have access to the Brushy Creek Regional Trail for hiking and biking, plus multiple community pools and parks throughout the neighborhood.
The 183A toll road connects the area southward and can cut travel time considerably. Expect roughly 30 to 45 minutes to downtown depending on traffic and time of day. The Lakeline MetroRail Station is also nearby for a transit option.
The Parmer Lane and 183A corridor has grocery stores, pharmacies, and a range of restaurants within a short drive. The Domain, a larger retail and dining hub, is about 15 minutes south.
